Sales doesn't have to come from sales.

Get returning customers by using these 7 untapped methods in your company.

  1. Use customer teams for more proactive communication: Your customers know there are no salesy hidden agendas when they hear from a customer agent. Their guards are down and their hearts and ears are open 👂 So don’t reduce these teams to mere service providers.

The communication could be in form of:

    regular blog posts

    webinars

    video/audio guides or podcasts

    Email blasts

    Group training sessions

Target this communication to certain customers at a time.

Include CTAs or automated follow-up emails that  encourage them to take the next step by testing one of your features, ordering a delivery, upgrading their suite, buying more of your services or whatever is applicable to what you sell. (As long as it's related to what was presented)

This way, most customers will get what they need without having to ask, and an easy way for them to engage deeper into your relationship 😍🤝👰🏻‍♀️.

  2. Build a cause branding strategy by partnering up with one of your customers who works for a good cause. Give them free or discounted services and spread the word on your cooperation and how you support their work, (as long as this is authentic). This gives you great PR, and we all know how much social responsibility is increasingly influencing buying decisions for companies and for consumers.

It's good for the customer, it's good for you, it's good for the world. It's good for EVERYONE 🥳

  3. A consistent presence on social media, blogs and email that addresses your customers and prospects struggles and needs related to your products. (Posts about your new employees, office space or some random event you hosted or went to - ai’nt what I’m talkin’ bout.)

  4. Use your customer team's insights and data to discover your most frequently asked questions, pain points, concerns, appreciations and suggestions - to build stacks of useful resources, inspiration sites and use cases, ideas for your copywriting and testimonials or quotes. Definitely use Ai to go through all the data , and even help you outline the resources you need. (Personal data can easily be masked and replaced before you run it through an LLM like ChatGPT, with simple python operations or other tools.)

  5. Run automated targeted campaigns based on data you collect from surveys or what you already have in your CRM systems. Build content in batches and use automation tools like  Zapier, Make or Activepieces. Trigger the campaign to be sent to new respondents, sign ups, subscribers or newly registered customers with a certain defined category.

  6. For saas companies: find clever ways to update your customers with their own data through automation. You might be able to connect data from your warehouse to your email-systems and CRM. This way you can automate reports from your own solutions to every customer using them, with weekly reports, status- and activity updates, whatever would be relevant to your services.  This gives you another communication flow that can be automated, highly personalized and super relevant and valuable to your customers, making sure they don’t forget you.

  7. This kind of summarizes all the previous methods: Foster, grow and utilize HUMAN unique irreplaceable capabilities like creativity, empathy, curiosity, community, connection, and fun - to create your outputs. Utilize AI and automation to amplify and scale those outputs for unbeatable customer experiences.
